The Woodlands – Laser Dentistry, Root Canal Treatment, and More – General Dentistry Options

Sound oral health is the cornerstone of a beautiful, vibrant smile.  The Texas Center for Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry is committed to helping patients maintain their dental health, and we provide a range of general dentistry treatments toward that end.  We provide exceptional, patient-focused care in a dental spa atmosphere that attracts individuals in The Woodlands, as well as Houston and surrounding areas.  Laser dentistry, root canal treatment, and preventive care are among the treatments we offer to help patients have dazzling, healthy smiles for life.

Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry makes numerous dental procedures more comfortable and effective than ever before.  They quicken the dental procedure, minimize the risk of infection, reduce bleeding and swelling, and make treatment so comfortable that, often, no anesthesia is needed.  The Texas Center for Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry provides patients in The Woodlands, Houston, and surrounding areas with the following laser dentistry options:

DIAGNOdent® Laser Cavity Detection

The DIAGNOdent® laser detects cavities in their earliest stages, including cavities hidden below the tooth’s surface.  This allows us to detect and treat tooth decay much sooner than traditional cavity detection methods.  To treat tooth decay, we provide laser tooth decay removal as well as attractive tooth-colored (white) fillings

PulseMaster™ Laser Dentistry

We are pleased to offer our patients in The Woodlands, Houston, and surrounding areas with laser dentistry using the PulseMaster™ Laser by American Dental Technologies, Inc., one of the most advanced dental lasers on the market.  This laser provides access to difficult-to-reach areas of the mouth, allows great precision, and preserves as much of the oral tissue as possible.  We use the PulseMaster™ laser for a variety of hard- and soft-tissue procedures, including treating tooth decay, curing filling materials, removing periodontal tissue, gum contouring, preparing the teeth and gums for placement of porcelain crowns and dental bridges, and activating teeth whitening gels.

Root Canal Treatment

Inside a tooth, there is a canal (a root canal) filled with soft tissue called pulp.  When this pulp becomes badly decayed or infected, root canal treatment can be used to prolong the use of the tooth, which may otherwise need to be extracted.  Root canal treatment cleans the tooth from the inside, removing the pulp and replacing it with a strong dental material.  At our office near Houston, we strive to make root canal treatment as comfortable as possible, with options including comfort-enhancing amenities and advanced sedation dentistry

The Root Canal Treatment Process

In general, between one and three visits to our office in The Woodlands are necessary to complete root canal treatment.  In the first visit, we begin by administering a local anesthetic (or, if appropriate, sedation dentistry).  Next, he cleans the root canal.  He may also fill the canal with an antibiotic solution. The next step is to fill the root canal with a durable dental material and, finally, to cover the tooth with a porcelain crown.

If you live in The Woodlands, Houston, or a nearby area and need to schedule root canal treatment, contact the Texas Center for Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry today to schedule a consultation.

Preventive Care

The key to having optimal dental health is preventing problems before they start.  To help patients do this, we offer several preventive dentistry options, including:

Oral Exams

Oral exams are essential to detecting tooth, gum, and bone problems in their earliest, most treatable, stages.

Dental Cleanings

We recommend that patients receive bi-annual cleanings to monitor tooth decay and keep the mouth clean and healthy.

Tooth Decay Treatment

We provide state-of-the-art treatment for tooth decay, including laser cavity detection and removal and attractive tooth-colored fillings.

Periodontal Treatment

We provide laser periodontal treatment, which allows us to eliminate periodontal tissue while minimizing discomfort to the patient.
